Live Capture & Streaming
Cubix has the ability to perform live capture from transport streams (TS / HLS) or SDI – using either manual triggers or scheduled times, or work from a schedule provided in Excel / XML, etc. Cubix is also able to consume Gracenote© EPG data as well as the source for scheduling these recordings – complete with all the associated metadata. This allows for completely “lights out” workflows for the capture of “off air” feeds for OTT catch-up services and archive needs.
Often recordings are performed using handles – and then trimmed to be accurate downstream either based on SCTE-35 triggers or manually in one of our editors. It’s also possible to consume a microservice from the playout directly to drive this process, where captures can then be performed near frame-accurate from the source.
Cubix can also create live streams – either natively with a simple playlist, or by integrating to one of the many 3rd party devices that we support. By tying in with the Review & Approve Portal inside Cubix, links can be distributed to a dedicated page to view these live streams securely – making them suitable for the streaming of live events, meetings and more.
